What is a good way to memorize them?\u201d There are various ways to memorize words. One that has recently been said to be effective is the method of \u201cmemorizing words using collocations.\u201d

Have you experienced a situation where you do not know how to say something in Japanese when you want to say something? You were panicked and felt \u201cOh, I don\u2019t know how to say this in Japanese?\u201d Right? Have you ever tried your best to talk but felt disappointed because you couldn\u2019t understand the correct way to say something and couldn\u2019t get it across to the other person? Have you ever been shocked that you cannot tell your thoughts when you tried your best to talk but you do not know how to say?<\/p>\n

By using collocations effectively, you will be able to convey what you want to say in a short, simple, and easy-to-understand manner. Collocation is a natural expression.<\/p>\n

Moreover, we can memorize a lot of words by using collocations. For example, rather than memorizing the two words \u201c\u672c hon: book\u201d and \u201c\u8aad\u3080 yomu: read\u201d separately, it is easier to memorize the two words together such as \u201c\u672c\u3092\u8aad\u3080 hon wo yomu.\u201d Even if you do not know the meanings by just hearing \u201c\u964d\u308b huru: fall\u201d and \u201c\u6b62\u3080 yamu: stop,\u201d if you use them with \u201c\u96e8 ame: rain,\u201d you can understand the meanings, such as \u201c\u96e8\u304c\u964d\u308b ame ga furu\u201d and \u201c\u96e8\u304c\u6b62\u3080 ame ga yamu.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, by learning words using collocations, you will be able to understand the difference in meaning between words that are similar but have different meanings.<\/p>\n

For example, the verbs \u201c\u5411\u304b\u3046 mukau\u201d and \u201c\u5411\u304f muku\u201d are difficult to understand the differences of meanings.<\/p>\n
