Japanese Level at Admission / N5
Q. What kind of career path did you take after graduating from TCJ? Also, please tell us the reason why you chose your career path.
Following my graduation from TCJ, I went to study at Waseda Graduate Business School, where I completed a Master in International Business Administration. Before moving to Japan in 2017, I worked for over 8 years in the IT field in the UK, however I felt I wanted to improve my career by taking an MBA.

Japan was my logical choice, not only because I love the culture and the language, but also because I wanted to see a different approach to business. In order to get used to a new country, I joined TCJ for a year, prior to my MBA, to improve my Japanese to a conversational level.
Q. What are your goals and dreams for the future? Please be as specific as possible.
At the moment, I have spent a few months studying Japanese and focusing on passing JLPT N2. But I will be starting to job hunt in Tokyo soon.

I have not yet decided on a specific career path but I enjoy meeting new people and a challenging work environment and especially a place where I can practice Japanese everyday.

I have always been interested in new technologies, so I would love to find a job in an IT firm or a recruitment firm, helping people from all over the world experience Japan and its culture.
Q. Please give some advice to students who will join TCJ in the future and current students based on your experience.
I had a great experience at TCJ!

When I joined TCJ, I had never studied Japanese before. So I was unable to communicate on many levels, however in only one year, my Japanese went to such a level that I was able to communicate in every day situations (from opening a bank account to renting an apartment). TCJ was also really supportive in helping me to integrate into Japan by providing advice and support daily with all the new challenges of moving to a very different country! I really love the memories of my time at TCJ!
