SENIOR VOICE
After studying at TCJ I have entered in a master program at International Christian University in Mitaka as a regular student. My master program is about language and media and I am researching Translation Studies. My research is about Studio Ghibli Italian translations and the methodology applied while translating from Japanese into Italian. I really enjoy ICU and its campus. It is a beautiful place surrounded by nature, in which the students can relax and study peacefully. I am glad I could enter in this University and being able to receive a good scholarship. I would like to continue studying here also in future.
I would like to become a university researcher in future. This year my master will end, but I am planning to apply for a PhD program at International Christian University. Mine will be a theoretical research in Cultural Translation, a branch of Translation Studies. If I have the opportunity I would like to continue my studies and work in a Japanese academic environment in future.
I would recommend to everyone attending TCJ to try go and talk to other students from other countries and try to have a good relationship with the teachers. I think is really important to get out from the shell and try to think outside the box, sharing stories and experiences with people from different countries and different cultural backgrounds. I believe that attending TCJ is a very important occasion to challenge one’s own preconceptions and prejudice against cultures and broaden one’s horizons.
