Japanese Level at Admission / N1
How long have you been living in Japan?

2 years

How long have you learned at TCJ?

1 year

Which course are you taking?

Evening Business Class

Before enrolling, what was your biggest challenge when learning Japanese?

1. My biggest challenge before enrolling at TCJ was the gap between my theoretical knowledge of Japanese and the Japanese I could actually use in a real business setting.

2. I had passed the JLPT N2 and felt fairly confident in my grammar and reading comprehension, but I found it difficult to use natural expressions and business-specific phrases effectively.

Why did you choose TCJ out of all the schools?

1. I felt that the school places a strong emphasis on practical Japanese language education directly applicable to the business world.

2. The evening business classes were very appealing to me, as I wanted to study while working.

3. I felt that the school truly understood the needs of learners who, while having a foundation in Japanese, want to acquire more natural and advanced language skills. I believed that TCJ would help me take my current level to the next stage, so I decided to enroll.

4. Another major reason was that the school is close to the station, which minimizes my commute time.

Please share a specific example of a time when, after taking a TCJ class, you felt that “my Japanese was understood!” or “I’ve improved!”

1. At work, I have had the experience of explaining something and conveying my thoughts entirely in Japanese from start to finish.
I was able to answer subsequent questions without switching to English, and the conversation flowed naturally.

2. When a Japanese colleague told me, “You did a great job,” I truly felt that my Japanese had been understood.

As I continued my studies at TCJ, these experiences became more frequent, which helped build my confidence.

What do you like most about the teacher’s teaching style and the class atmosphere?

1. Throughout the year, I received guidance from a variety of instructors. Every instructor was very attentive and always taught from the learner’s perspective.

2. It was particularly helpful that they didn’t just teach textbook Japanese, but also explained in detail how it’s used in real business situations and why certain expressions sound natural.

3. The class atmosphere is excellent, and the environment encourages students to speak up without fear of making mistakes.

4. Because I receive feedback on even the finest nuances, I feel that my ability to express myself has improved steadily, albeit gradually.

Please share a message for those who are still undecided about enrolling.

For those of you who have already passed the N3 or N2 levels but feel like you’re stuck and can’t seem to move forward, I highly recommend TCJ. I enrolled after passing the N2 exam and, after studying in the evening business class for a year, I truly feel my Japanese skills have reached near-N1 level. It wasn’t just exam preparation; I was able to improve my actual communication skills, and now I’m ready to seriously take on the JLPT N1.

I believe TCJ is the perfect school for anyone looking for a practical learning environment where they can study with confidence.
