Morning Light Class
Knowing which vocabularly and grammar points to focus on i.e. not knowing what I should learn first and what was commonly used or most useful to know at the beginning.
TCJ had in person classes which was important for me and they also had a structured course which covered the foundations and built on prior learning. They were also flexible with the start date and length of study which was useful as I`m only in Japan for 6 months so it was difficult to find schools where the term dates aligned with my stay.
It didn`t take long before noticing that I was able to converse better in everday situations. The most notable would be with staff in stores or restaurants, where I was able to order more confidently and be understood without having to resort to pointing or switching to English. But the most wholesome times have been when I`ve been able to express joy or thanks to new friends I`ve made, which has been really nice.
I enjoy having a variety of teachers, as it`s nice to experience all of their different teaching styles and they each bring a focus on a different part of the language, whether that be culturally, with regional dialects or specific grammar points. They all bring a lot of energy and enthusiam to teaching as well which helps stay motivated.
If you`re looking for a school that can cater to where you`re currently at with your language learning journey I`d highly recommend TCJ as they did a great job with finding the right level for me to start from and even offer options to start midway through courses if it best matches your current level.
