SENIOR VOICE

I am about to enter the Department of Urban Human Environment at Chuo University. I studied environmental engineering, and I came to Japan, where I have advanced technology, to study in Japan for more in-depth research. My research lab is currently working on solving various problems encountered in improving the water environment. For example, the introduction of artificial intelligence in water supply treatment to make treatment efficient is something that I think will expand my horizons in the future since it involves multiple subject areas.

Although I can learn more specialized knowledge in the university college, I value having the ability to find problems and solve them more. In the future, I can work not only in environment-related jobs, but also in IT-related jobs. And I think that as long as I have certain ability, I will be able to work well in any job.

Students who are coming to study in Japan have more or less some experience in learning Japanese in their home countries. However, no matter what level of Japanese language ability you have, please try to learn the basic part as solidly as possible. There are a lot of stores owned by Chinese people in Japan, but please don’t always rely on your compatriots just because of that. In TCJ, do your homework well (there really isn’t much), and please don’t be timid if you are given the opportunity to express yourself in class. Everyone is shy at first, so if you are bold and active, you will find after a while that the shy people around you may still be at the same level as they were at the beginning when you can start speaking fluently.
