Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services Visa
Important for Foreign Workers in Japan: Japanese Language Requirements to Be Added to the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services Visa in April 2026
It has been decided that, starting April 15, 2026, a Japanese language proficiency requirement will be added to the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa.
This change will affect not only those planning to work in Japan, but also those who are already residing in the country. Going forward, a higher level of Japanese proficiency may be required than before, making early preparation essential.
In response to this policy change, TCJ will launch a new course: the JLPT N2 Intensive Preparation Course (Saturday Class), starting on July 11.
