TCJ Music Festival🎤Let’s Sing Japanese Songs

TCJ’s First Music Event with Around 1,400 Participants
On February 18, 2026, TCJ Tokyo School held a special event for international students titled “TCJ Music Festival: Let’s Sing Japanese Songs.”
Approximately 1,400 students and staff members participated, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere throughout the venue.
This event was planned with the aim of creating an opportunity where all students could enjoy themselves regardless of their Japanese language level.
After a pre-event audition, 14 international students were selected to perform Japanese songs on stage.

International Students Performing Japanese Songs
The students who took the stage performed a wide range of Japanese music, from enka to the latest J-pop hits.
Their impressive singing skills and expressive performances were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

A Concert-Like Atmosphere with Penlights and Fan Signs
Many students cheered for their friends with penlights and handmade fan signs.
When the lights dimmed, colorful penlights filled the venue, creating an atmosphere that felt just like a live concert.

Surprise Performances by Teachers
During the event, there were also surprise performances by teachers.
Seeing teachers—who are usually leading classes—sing on stage drew loud cheers from the audience.

Everyone Singing Together
At the end of the event, everyone in attendance joined together to sing “Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana” by SMAP.
Students from different countries and classes sang together in Japanese, creating a memorable moment of unity across the entire venue.

The TCJ Music Festival: Let’s Sing Japanese Songs was TCJ’s first attempt at hosting such an event for international students.

TCJ President Mr. Nakazawa, who participated as a judge, commented:
“It is often said that music transcends borders. Watching international students perform Japanese songs—from enka to the latest hits—on stage was truly inspiring and showed great potential.”

TCJ hopes to continue developing this initiative and grow the TCJ Music Festival into an even larger event that more students can enjoy in the future.
