What are your reasons for learning Japanese?
Anna: I’m learning Japanese because I love Japan and want to live freely here.
Trang: The first reason is that I want to talk with my husband in Japanese. The second is to speak the language of the country I am living in.
Ajith Kumar: My wife is Japanese and I’m in the process of settling down in Japan, working as an engineer and manager.
Student 4 from Indonesia: It’s a hobby. We travel to Japan a lot and I love Japanese culture, the people, the food, etc.
Úlfur: I want to go to graduate school in Japan and Japanese level N2 is required for the entrance exams.
What were you looking for in a Japanese language school when you were researching schools?
Anna: I was looking for opportunities to learn Japanese, particularly online.
Trang: Reasonable tuition, time flexibility, and a pleasant environment (people and facilities).
Ajith Kumar: A reasonable schedule that fits my plan and diary.
Student 4 from Indonesia: Price, reviews, and the possibility of online learning.
Úlfur: Flexibility in enrollment due to uncertainty about arrival in Japan.

Anna: The possibility of learning online as well as at the school, along with their positive reviews on social media.

What do you like most about TCJ?

Anna: I love all the teachers and students. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I enjoy learning with them.
Trang: I like the TCJ teachers the most, especially Kitamura sensei and Inoue sensei. They create such a positive atmosphere in class, take care of every student and always answer difficult questions.
Ajith Kumar: Good school, good teachers. They are very experienced and always answer our questions.
Student 4 from Indonesia: I like the environment and the teachers at TCJ. They are always ready to help.
Úlfur: Their flexible attendance options, including online classes. Also, the teachers are very enthusiastic and manage to create a fun atmosphere in class.
What are your favorite aspects of the TCJ curriculum?
Anna: I really like how we learn kanji through examples.
Trang: I love the idea of using pictures for teaching, as well as teaching students in-person and online simultaneously.
Ajith Kumar: I like how teachers always stick to the proposed schedule.
Student 4 from Indonesia: At the moment, I like learning Kanji.
Úlfur: Overall, the curriculum is very good.
How has your Japanese language skills improved since you started studying at TCJ?
Anna: I have increased the number of new words I know and the kanji I know.
Trang: I have gained confidence in speaking Japanese and in using it in daily life.
Ajith Kumar: It has improved. Personal effort plays a significant role.
Student 4 from Indonesia: I have started to be able to read signs in Kanji, and I can understand more when Japanese people talk.
Úlfur: My listening and speaking have improved significantly.
What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering studying at TCJ?
Trang: Just go to TCJ, meet their consultants, and walk around TCJ’s three floors. You may have found the place where you want to study.
Ajith Kumar: A school can only introduce learning. Students have to learn by themselves and by asking questions in order to progress.
Úlfur: Come and visit the school for a consultation and sit in on a lesson to see if it’s the right fit for you.
What are some of the challenges you have faced in learning Japanese and how has TCJ helped you overcome these challenges?

Trang: Grammar and difficult sounds. TCJ teachers help by teaching and explaining grammar, as well as correcting accents and intonation.
Ajith Kumar: I have less of an opportunity to interact with Japanese people and limited exposure to words used in the work environment. TCJ classes solve that by supporting me with my questions and challenges.
Student 4 from Indonesia: Speaking. TCJ gives me a platform to practice this.
Úlfur: Keigo (formal Japanese). The teachers work hard to support me on this.
What are your goals for your Japanese language studies and how can TCJ help?
Trang: To speak comfortably in everyday Japanese, to pass the JLPT test, and to achieve N1 if possible. TCJ has previously helped me to pass the N3 JLPT.
Ajith Kumar: To try to obtain the level of a native Japanese speaker. My regular lessons at TCJ are crucial for this.
Student 4 from Indonesia: To speak comfortably in everyday Japanese.
Úlfur: To pass the JLPT N2. The TCJ teachers are great at supporting me to achieve this goal.
